An ex dividend date is not a payment date. Schwab's official twenty twenty six schedule lists December ninth as the next planned ex dividend and record date for S C H D, and December fourteenth as the payable date. For an ordinary cash distribution, buying on or after the ex date does not qualify for that payment. These are planned issuer dates, not a promise about when your broker posts cash. The next dollar amount is not yet listed in the issuer distribution table checked October fourth. Read completed distributions separately from the future schedule. Schwab's distribution rows list zero point two five six nine dollars per share paid on March thirtieth, zero point two five two five paid on June twenty ninth, and zero point two six six five paid on September twenty eighth. These three historical amounts total zero point seven seven five nine dollars per eligible share. It is a three payment sum, not a full year estimate. To turn the source rows into cash, multiply each distribution by your eligible share count. For an illustrative one hundred shares eligible for all three payments, one hundred times the sum of zero point two five six nine, zero point two five two five, and zero point two six six five equals seventy seven dollars and fifty nine cents before taxes or fees. The one hundred share holding is an example, not a fund statistic. Do not use a monthly average as a monthly payment, or use September's amount as a forecast for December. The source links and full retained payment C S V are in the Dividend Steps article.
